On October 20, the Youth Engagement and Pathways Unit are hosting the Innovate, Initiate, Inspire Youth Summit. This event is for young people aged 15-19 or those in Years 9-12 who have strong connections to City of Hume, which includes Tullamarine and other Melbourne suburbs. Schools and organisations can register young people who would benefit from the event.
The event proceedings will run for the school day and include a panel and Q&A with young innovators, a group challenge to inspire innovative thinking as well as workshops. There will also be a keynote speaker who has ignited change in their community. Promotional Products may also be brought from organisations.
When booking the event, an additional Eventbrite form will be sent out for young people to choose their preferred workshops. Up to 10 young people per school or not-for-profit organisation will be able to attend the summit. A contact for the Youth Engagement and Pathways Unit is youth@hume.vic.gov.au. School and organisation staff will also attend the summit to supervise the young people in their care.
The Innovate, Initiate, Inspire Youth Summit will begin at 9am on Thursday October 20 and conclude at 3pm the same day. Located at Town Hall, this City of Hume event will be an opportunity for young people to come together.
