A famous Melbourne music venue will present a metal band from Italy later this year, who have taken inspiration from the works of writer J. R. R. Tolkien.

Pioneers of a rock sub-genre called “Dwarven Metal”, the band originates from Pisa in Tuscany, and has been playing together since 2009, with numerous recordings and tours under their belt.
Wind Rose primarily play metal infused with vocal harmonies and orchestration. The lyrical themes of their songs are taken from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, in particular his depiction of Dwarves. The band also take their aesthetic from these characters, taking to the stage wearing furs, helmets and armour, and sporting long hair and beards.
Those attending the Melbourne show will get a chance to hear tracks from the band’s most recent album, “Warfront”.
Wind Rose will perform on stage at Max Watt’s in Melbourne on Sunday, May 19. The venue is located at 125 Swanston Street in Melbourne.
