A well-known American band are coming to a venue in Victoria next year.
Avid alternative music fans from Mitcham and other parts of Victoria will soon be able to see the Violent Femmes in concert. Venues hosting bands from both abroad and Australia sometimes take advantage of services from professional Print shops in order to produce Posters advertising performing acts.
Renowned for their unusual sound that fuses punk rock with folk music, the band started when its two core members Brian Ritchie and Gordon Gano got together in 1980. The bassist and guitarist both sang and created the unique sound that has seen them sell numerous singles and albums over the years.
In 1983, the American band released a self-titled debut from Slash Records, and now, many years later, they have 10 studio albums to draw songs from for their live tours. Fans of the Violent Femmes looking to attend the show next year will get the chance to hear a set list of iconic tracks from the group, which could include “Gimme the Car”, “Blister in the Sun”, “Country Death Song”, “Gone Daddy Gone”, “I Held Her in My Arms” and the sing-along audience favourite “American Music”.
Violent Femmes will now be on stage at the Forum in Melbourne, located at 154 Flinders Street, on Friday, February 18th, 2022.
