Tullamarine airport food venues to be revived with up-market brands

Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport is set to revamp its eateries in a bid to keep the city on trend with some of the world’s capital cities.

Over 11 renowned Melbourne cafe and restaurant identities will be opening at the airport in both terminal two and terminal three and will replace existing venues, from September to December this year.

Jackie Middleton, director and co-founder of EARL Canteen said that it has had customers asking if it would open an outlet at Melbourne Airport for a long time. She further commented that most people believed that airport food isn’t up to scratch, with many people wanting to see Melbourne’s local brands showcased at the airport. Businesses may use printing services as a means of advertising.

As well as EARL Canteen, other outlets include Cobb Lane, Axil Coffee Roaster, Proud Mary and also Stomping Ground Brewery Company, which will open a restaurant as well as a bar with its own on-site brewery. Pickett’s Deli and Rotisserie will also open with the same concept as that of the Queen Victoria Market.

Pickett said that the airport is where travellers are welcomed to Melbourne and in order for the city to maintain its global identity, the airport needs to remain up-to-date. He further said that the food provided at the airport reflects the city’s identity just as much as any of the airport’s other processes.
