To ensure easy access to the programme, known as “Creative Brimbank”, a dedicated website has recently been launched that enables visitors to share and exchange creative ideas. The Creative Brimbank website features artist opportunities, blog posts, videos, public art information, an events calendar and more.
Lynley Dumble, Brimbank Council's Community Wellbeing Acting Director, said the aim is to build a creative, connected and vibrant community by providing a programme in which people can collaborate and participate. She said that in an effort to boost community engagement, Creative Brimbank will bring together a host of art activities for the community, as well as cultural shows and events, creative workshops and artists. Dumble added:
“Council is dedicated to ensuring the arts are part of everyday life in Brimbank, as well as developing artistic thinking in the community through the work of the Arts and Culture team, and beyond."
Flyer printing campaigns have often helped to spread the word about community-based programmes such as Creative Brimbank, which concentrates mainly on work that comes under the umbrella of Brimbank City Council's Arts and Culture Unit. This includes the programme at the St Albans Community Centre, Community Cultural Development, Bowery Theatre, galleries and art spaces, events and festivals.
