International artist reflects a love of nature in latest exhibit

Tullamarine residents have been given the chance to enjoy the work of renowned artist Jacquie Blight, with the `From Nature Extracted’ exhibition currently on show at the Craigieburn Gallery.

The Hume Arts Award Professional Development Grant (2012) and Encouragement Award (2013) recipient is known for reflecting her love of nature on canvas.

Ms Blight lives and breathes the natural environment, where she revels in the ‘bushscapes’ which present her creative mind with colours, patterns and shapes, accented with varying degrees of light and shade.

The City of Hume resident describes her work as a search for beauty, but adds that beauty is not always found in perfection.

Viewing her works from afar reveals an excellent eye for perspective, and each piece would no doubt make an eye-catching subject for poster printing designs.

Blessed with a discerning eye for detail and an innate appreciation for nature, her latest pieces bring the artist’s unique style to the fore.

A celebrated portrait and landscape artist both in Australia and internationally, Ms Blight has turned heads with her beguiling technique and artistic interpretation.

Featured in the latest display is her much-admired Bushscape 5 painting, which is concurrently on show in the Screen Project featured at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Meanwhile, local and visiting art lovers can view Blight’s works first hand from now until February 2, 2014, at the gallery located in the Hume Global Learning Centre in Central Park Avenue, Craigieburn. It is open seven days a week.
