On November 26, Edita Mujkic will be in a conversation interview series at Broadmeadows library. A conversation discussion series is a good chance for fans of writers and/or artists to experience their favourite figures in a more casual setting. This is a good chance for those living in Tullamarine, Broadmeadows and surrounding areas of Melbourne to join in on an important conversation.
Edita Mujkic is a writer based in Melbourne, originally hailing from Sarajevo. She is an award-winning memoirist and author. Her book is about 600 days of involuntary separation as a refugee in the 1990’s. In 1992, Edita Mujkic fled war-torn Sarajevo with two young children in tow. They fled in a borrowed car with their Bags and just fifty American dollars to their name. Her husband Goran stayed behind, trapped in an impenetrable siege in their hometown. The book, complete with beautiful graphic design, details this difficult time in the family’s life.
Edita, alongside a staff member interviewer, provides a thoughtful discussion about ideas of belonging, war and humanitarianism. Join facilitators on Saturday the 26 November 2022, for this event. It will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 3:00 pm AEDT. The Broadmeadows library services several areas of Melbourne and is located at 1093 Pascoe Vale Rd, Broadmeadows.
