Mayor Margaret Giudice explained that the event is a family-friendly affair and one which has enabled many locals to welcome in the true spirit of Christmas in a fantastic and enjoyable way, adding:
“Carols at the Castle is also an important fundraiser – with all money from ticket sales going to the Brimbank Community Fund, which supports Brimbank’s most vulnerable residents through grassroots solutions.”
An estimated $45,000 has been raised in the last four years and used to benefit 11 local charities to help in the areas of wellbeing, employment and education of young people, according to the Mayor.
Held at Keilor’s Overnewton Castle, the carols will be directed by Tracey Miller. Master of Ceremonies on the night will be Aurora Kurth whose cheeky comical style and sublime vocals is certain to amaze audiences between stage performances.
Leading the carol singing will be Billy Miller, former front man for the Ferrets and Melbourne vocalist Rebecca Barnard. Mayor Giudice said audiences will also be able to download a copy of a special Christmas song lyrics programme using their own printing services, to take along on the night.
Carols at the Castle 2018 will be held from 7pm-9pm on December 16. Tickets are available online.
