Airport to deliver taste of Melbourne

The foodie scene, for which Melbourne is renowned, is set to be reflected in a major re-fresh at Tullamarine Airport.

Some of the city’s most loved bars and cafes will form part of the hospitality offerings available for the thousands of travellers that pass through the airport each day.

In a first for airports in Australia, an on-site independent brewery offering a wide selection of craft beer will be opened by Stomping Ground Brewing Co, which will also provide food from its Collingwood menu.

Restaurant owner and top chef Scott Pickett is also set to feature by showcasing the state’s produce at his popular Pickett’s Deli and Rotisserie.

The impressive line-up is extensive and will also feature the Cobb Lane café and its popular pastries, the launch of a new Moors by Shane Delia, an Axil Coffee Roasters outlet and Proud Mary eateries plus, in another first for Australia, airline patrons will be able to dine at the AFL Kitchen and Bar.

The hospitality re-fresh will be spread across Terminals two and three. Chief of Retail at Melbourne Airport Andrew Gardiner stated that he is confident the airport will present the “right mix of venues”, adding:

“Melbourne is one of the world’s top food destinations so it is important that our food and beverage offering reflects the amazing variety of food found across our wonderful city.”

Flyer printing has often helped spread the word about innovations such as new venues. These new eateries are due to start opening their doors in September.
