National Science Week organisers will be running a special afternoon of science experiments at the Tullamarine Library in August.
The National Science Week Experiments event is designed for children aged six and over and will feature numerous exciting experiments aimed at stimulating an interest in science and technology. To cater for the participants’ age range, the science event will be held after school at the Tullamarine Library. Graphic design is often used in events such as this to explain scientific information in an easy-to-read manner for school children, with interesting visual elements and colours.
The theme for this year’s Science Week is Innovation: Powering Future Industries, and a link for poster printing material is available on the Science Week website. The school curriculum areas that will be investigated include chemical sciences, physical sciences, Earth and space and biological sciences.
National Science Week is an annual event which features all things science. It began in 1997 and delivers over 1000 science presentations for all ages to explore. The Australian Government provides up to $500,000 in grants to support National Science week. Grants for schools are administered by the Australian Science Teachers Association.
The National Science Week Experiments event will be held on Thursday, 17 August from 4pm until 6pm at the Tullamarine Library, 58 Spring Street, Tullamarine. Admission to the event is free.
