Advice on offer for Tullamarines business owners

Entrepreneurs from Tullamarine will not have to go far to learn how to better their business this month, as a series of special workshops are to be held in nearby Keilor.

The workshops have been arranged as part of the Victorian Small Business Festival, which runs throughout August. The event is run by Small Business Victoria and is designed specifically to help the owners of small firms learn new skills to promote and grow their organisations.

As part of the festival, Brimbank City Council is holding three workshops covering building a business and good business practice. The first seminar will be on Wednesday August 7th and will include tips for good marketing and how to use advertising materials to increase business and find new customers.

On Thursday August 15th, the focus will be on online marketing and how developing a web presence can help a company to find customers and develop relationships with existing clients. The final workshop on Wednesday August 21st will look at aspects of building a resilient business, including risk management and coping with a financial crisis.

As well as learning useful skills, the workshops will provide a good chance to meet other local entrepreneurs to swap ideas and build contacts. Participants might like to think about business card printing or even postcard printing as a different way to introduce themselves and their businesses.

All events will be held at the Brimbank City Council offices on Old Calder Highway from 6:00 to 9.30pm. The cost is $30 per session and bookings can be made through the Brimbank Council website.
