The establishment of a new cutting edge branch has begun with MP for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, officially launching the start of construction last month. The branch will provide paramedics with modern facilities, a training room, kitchen, multiple areas to rest and recline and parking for staff.
Printing services are often used to keep the community up to date about such innovations in the local area. Williams said many benefits will be derived from the new facility, which is expected to contribute towards further improving the time taken to respond to call outs. She added:
“We are kick starting building works so that local families can rest assured that when an emergency strikes, life-saving paramedics will be just around the corner.”
She said the state government had proactively invested heavily in the ambulance sector in an effort to turn around previously poorer response times. The investment appears to be working, with ambulance wait times for a Code One emergency throughout the City being under 10 minutes, according to the MP.
An estimated 91.5% of the vehicles arrive at their destination within 15 minutes which represents an improved increase of 6.8% on 2014/15 figures.
The Ambulance Services’ new station will be located on Dandenong’s Stud Road.
