Wachter Reserve to host inaugural Big Picnic

Residents of the Greater Dandenong Council area, including Springvale, are being invited to join in a fun day out at the Wachter Reserve.

The Big Picnic event, being held by Greater Dandenong Council for the first time, has been described by organisers as a “country-style picnic with a modern twist” and the entire community is being urged to pack a picnic basket, grab a blanket and all the family.

An exciting programme of events has been organised with something for all ages ranging from sports and music to entertainment.

The Big Picnic will cover a smorgasbord of interest with a host of country-style games available together with arts workshops for creative minds, free face painting for the kids, food trucks full of different culinary offerings and live entertainment for those who like to kick back and enjoy the atmosphere of the great outdoors.

Also forming part of the activities will be the launch of Council’s campaign called ‘Make Your Move’.

The initiative deals with healthy living and ways to achieve it. More information will be available at the picnic. Schemes like these often use brochure printing services to provide interested parties with information.

Dogs will be welcome at the event, to be held between 11am and 4pm on April 14, with experts on hand to provide grooming and training tips as well as members of the Animal Management Team to check and update registrations.
