This year's Australian Indoor Open Championships have concluded with victories for Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia.
The indoor cricket competition, held this year from June 4th to June 11th at the Springvale Indoor Sports Centre, saw Queensland win the men's division against the Australian Capital Territory in a 73-65 result. Queensland also triumphed in the Lords Taverner's Shield division for players with intellectual disabilities, with a 140-5 victory over Victoria.
The women's division was won 62-51 by Victoria against South Australia, marking the state's fifth victory in the division since 1985, while in the 21 and under division, Western Australia claimed victory for the third year in a row, defeating Queensland 101-72.
Indoor cricket is a growing sport, with the number of players in Australia rising by 10% within the past year to a total of over 180,000.
