Springvale welcomes model event
A three-day occasion in Springvale will celebrate the Australian plastic modelling scene.
Springvale’s renowned Ladbrokes Park, formerly known as Sandown Racecourse, is set to host the Australian Model Expo 2022. The upcoming event held at the world-class racetrack for thoroughbred horses will see the venue become the site of the largest national model show in Australia, showcasing all areas of plastic modelling. Venues hosting major events like festivals and expositions often enlist the aid of professional banner printing services to create large-scale signage.
As part of the three-day celebration, an open competition for plastic models will take place, with more than 60 different categories for a variety of model types like cars, trucks, aircraft and figuring, along with a selection of genres like fantasy and science fiction. The competition typically sees entries from over 500 model hobbyists keen to show their work to the public and their peers.
The expo will also feature a wide array of model shops, associated retailers and traders selling products, accessories and tools on the day, along with manufacturing companies revealing their latest releases. Model clubs will be present on the day highlighting hobby displays, and a “swap and sell” section will allow attendees to pick up kits to complete their project.
