A band hailing from the US capital renowned for their heavy music will soon be playing live in Melbourne.
Springvale music fans will soon get the chance to see Washington DC band Animals As Leaders when they play Melbourne this April as part of their full national tour of Australia. The mind-bending music of Animals As Leaders has earned them one of the most diverse fan bases in the world. Their rich synthesisers, eight string guitars and complex percussion has seen the instrumental three-piece appreciated by jazz fans, metalheads, virtuosos and casual listeners alike.
Formed back in 2007 as guitarist Tosin Abasi’s solo project, the band grew into a trio when the classically trained Javier Reyes added his guitaring skills and Berklee-educated Matt Garstka took to the skins. The band began to create music together that was built on their shared love of different music genres, from technical death metal to fusion blending organic feeling and precision playing.
Fans attending can expect to hear favourites like "The Joy of Motion”, “The Brain Dance” and “Cafo”.
Animals As Leaders will now play the live music venue 170 Russell, situated at 170 Russell Street in Melbourne on Wednesday, April 19. The gig will begin at 7.30 sharp.
