Music lovers of Springvale are being invited to attend Australia’s first fully accessible and inclusive music festival.
Dubbed Ability Fest, the event is the brainchild of gold medal-winning Paralympian Dylan Alcott, and it aims to use music as means of normalising disability.
Supported by youth music station Triple J, the day’s musical acts include Benson, Alex the Astronaut, Ebony Boadu, Dena Amy, Cub Sport and Eves Karydas, to name just a few. With all proceeds going to the Dylan Alcott Foundation, the funds will be used to help Australian youths with disabilities reach their fullest potential. Music festivals and community events such as this can benefit from poster printing to advertise key details to potential attendees.
After taking last year off due to COVID pandemic restrictions, the festival is planning a bigger and better event than ever before, with a wide array of food and other vendors, along with two live music stages operating throughout the afternoon. In its first two years, the festival was able to raise close to $500,000 for the Dylan Alcott Foundation, and it is hoped this year’s line-up will continue the trend.
Ability Fest is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 27th at Alexandra Gardens on Boathouse Drive, with gates opening at 12 pm. Tickets start at $116.50 and are available to purchase online.
