Springvale area to host a night of US comedy

An American comedian will be performing a live set in Melbourne’s Southbank in 2024.

Comedy fans in Springvale will get a chance to see US comic and actor Matt Rife when he appears at Hamer Hall in January next year. Venues of all shapes and size across Victoria often consult poster printing services for bespoke advertisements showcasing the acts they host, encouraging attendance.

Well-known for the self-produced specials he stars in like Walking Red Flag and Only Fans, Rife also has a recurring role in Wild ‘n Out, the comedy sketch and rap show. Born in Ohio, he first became interested in stand-up when he was just 14 after a talent show was announced at school. After performing, he began a professional career at just 15.

Along with success on the stand-up circuit, Rife is also an actor, and has appeared as Logan in the TV show Fresh Off the Boat, and Brandon Bliss in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also handled presenting duties on Total Request Live in 2017.

The comedian has cited several influences that have informed his act. These include Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Robin Williams and David Spade in his formative years, and latterly Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle, with whom he shares a sense of humour, views and opinions.

Matt Rife will be at Hamer Hall on Sunday, January 21. The venue is located at 100 St Kilda Road, Southbank, Melbourne.
