In previous years, the event has been highly successful in helping to raise funds for local charities, according to Mayor of Greater Dandenong Angela Long, who added:
“Money raised over the past 11 years has provided significant support to many local charities, enabling some exciting new initiatives to be delivered to those most in need – and this little golf day has raised almost half a million dollars in that time.”
Long said that there was also the bonus for industry and business colleagues to come together to network and have fun. Events such as the golf day also provide an ideal opportunity for the exchange of Business Cards.
The two charitable organisations to benefit from the 2021 event will include the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and Keysborough Learning Centre.
Participants will be attempting to score a hole-in-one on the day to be in the running for a new car, courtesy of Dandenong Kia and Nissan. Sponsors of the golf day for charity include Erntec, Telstra Business Technology Centre, Norden Group, Future Recycling, Grenda Group and KPJ Group.
The 12th annual event will be held at the Victoria Golf Club on February 24. To date, the popular golfing day has raised in excess of $440,000 to help the community's most in need.
