Key tenant secured for new business park

The successful acquisition of a 4.67 hectare site in Mulgrave near Springvale has paved the way for the establishment of a new business park and community hub.

The venture’s joint partners ESR Australia and Frasers Property Australia have finalised the purchase and announced that anchor tenant Nissan Motor Co. Australia Pty Ltd has been secured.

Following a detailed submission, planning approval has been granted for commercial space covering 60,000sqm, a retail/café area of 752sqm and car parking for 2,497 vehicles on the site at 254 Wellington Road. It is also planned to include a community hub featuring a restaurant, gymnasium and open active space outdoors. Graphic Design Services are often used in the planning of developments such as this.

Frasers Property Australia’s Anthony Maugeri said the site is positioned strategically both in terms of its connection to the heart of Melbourne and the superb amenities it has on offer. He added:

“Nissan’s new head office will be located within Monash’s National Employment and Innovation Cluster (NEIC), Melbourne’s largest concentration of employment outside the CBD. We plan to develop a state-of-the-art business park and are eager to deliver industry-leading amenity on the site to assist in attracting large commercial occupiers.”

Located 22km from Melbourne CBD, the site is within a prominent industrial and commercial area comprising large distribution facilities, industrial business parks and modern offices.

Nissan Australia’s five-level, 11,000sqm facility is set to include an 1,850sqm workshop, 9,000sqm office and 550 car spaces with practical completion. It is expected to be completed by May 2020.
