Inspirational guest speakers on agenda for breakfast meet

Two of Australia’s most successful young achievers in the business world will be guest speakers at a special breakfast event in Springvale.

The breakfast, an SEBN Showcasing Women event, will feature Georgie Beattie and Yassmin Abdel-Magied.

Founder of Lupe Wines, a company that introduced packaged single-serve wine, Beattie is also Start Up Victoria’s CEO, which is the State’s largest entrepreneurship group.

In 2012, Lupe was among Business Review Weekly’s (BRW) top 10 for start-up businesses and followed it up a year later by winning the Business3000 New Business Award.

Beattie said besides learning about running a business, including marketing services and ways to promote a product, one of the most important lessons she has learned is to never assume anything. It is, she said, important to consider a wide range of outcomes and then base strategies around those.

Abdel-Magied was a finalist in the 2015 Young Australian of the Year. She is also a mechanical engineer, as well as being founder of Youth Without Borders, a writer, media commentator, TED speaker, and social advocate.

In addition, her accolades have included Marie Claire Woman of the Future, Instyle cultural leader, and winner of the inaugural Westpac and Australian Financial Review’s Women of Influence.

The women’s breakfast will be held on October 7 at Highways, Springvale from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
