The engines are revving for this year’s Big Bad Sandown weekend to be held at Sandown Racecourse at Springvale, Victoria.
The event is being organised by the Victorian Historic Racing Register, which holds several speed events and racing meetings throughout the year to give historic racing car owners a chance to give their vehicles a run.
Speed events and race action over the weekend never fail to attract huge numbers of car lovers keen to experience the exhilaration of racing such fine machinery.
Organisers said visitors will be able to see awe-inspiring cars from around the world, including Hong Kong, Germany, USA, UK, and New Zealand. Among the range of vehicles to be seen on the day are many Australian specials, along with the Lago Talbot, MG, Maybach, HMW, Jaguar, Maserati Cooper, BRM, Alfa Romeo, and Ferrari.
The majority of car owners taking part attend the meet every year.
To be held from November 7th - 9th, Big Bad Sandown will feature 400 race cars and 40 events.
Some of the vehicles on show – which range from 1920s-1980s touring cars and flashy racing sports cars to open wheeled racing cars – have been featured on special promotional material over the years, including poster printing campaigns.
The event is also expected to attract world champion racing identities.
