Popular race day comes to Caulfield
Caulfield is set to host a prominent horse racing event.
The P.B. Lawrence Stakes will once more make a welcome return to Caulfield Racecourse this year. The gates will open around one hour before the first race begins. The horse racing event will start with Vain Stakes, a 1,100-metre race, and the P.B. Stakes will be the sixth race of the day. The 1,400-metre horse race is a Melbourne Racing Club Group 2 event for thoroughbreds held under two conditions – weight and age.
Organisers and venues holding major races and other sporting occasions can use poster printing services to create advertisements for upcoming events to attract attendance or explain special requirements.
While the Caulfield racecourse has relaxed its dress code in recent years, it still has rules for attendees. Although jackets and ties are no longer necessary, jeans, sneakers, cargo shorts and dilapidated shoes and clothing are not permitted.
The first running of the Vain Stakes race took place in 1949 at Flemington Racecourse, and it was won by One Up, a horse bred in England. The race is designed for horses that are three years of age or older. The first horse and rider across the finish line can claim $200,000 in prize money.
The P.B Lawrence Stakes Day will be held on Saturday, August 14 at Caulfield Racecourse on Station St, in Caulfield East.
