An annual event dedicated to the culture, history and achievements of Australia’s Aboriginal peoples is taking place in Aura this winter.
Aura residents of all ages are invited to attend the upcoming event that celebrates country, community and culture. Entitled “Aura NAIDOC – The Festival of the Harvest”, the evening occasion arrives in July and welcomes those living in the community to bring along their friends and family to enjoy a wide range of experiences.

The free festival will take place in Baringa Forest Park, one of the many popular greenspaces within the Aura Community. Residents looking for physical activities can enjoy a rock-climbing wall and forest tours accompanied by a guide. Those seeking to immerse themselves in aboriginal culture can enjoy interactive workshops and traditional dance displays, and there will be light projections, live music and market stalls to pick up a keepsake of the event or something to eat and drink.
Organisers of the 2025 edition of this event have also planned a special fireworks show to finish the night.
