Aura to enjoy theatre production

A theatrical production based on a well-loved tale and featuring younger players will soon take place in an Aura suburb.

Theatre lovers in Aura will get a chance to see young actors perform The Wizard of Oz on stage in its Baringa suburb this spring. The production is based on the 1939 motion picture from the Turner Entertainment Company and was originally adapted by John Kane for performances by the Royal Shakespeare company in 1987.

While the play features primary school students, it will run for three consecutive nights at the Baringa State Secondary College Theatre in September. Professional and amateur theatre companies alike often reach out to poster printing services to create colourful playbills that list the cast and creatives involved.

With a classic story from L Frank Baum and music and songs from Harold Arlen and EY Harburg, ticket holders can revisit a memorable cast of characters including Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Wicked Witch of the West. The production also features Herbert Stothart’s background music.

The Wizard of Oz - Young Performer's Edition will now run for three consecutive nights from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14 at the Baringa State Secondary College Theatre. The college is based at 10 Griffith Place in the suburb of Baringa. Interested parties may book online once registration is open.
