What's Happening in Aura, QLD…

Aura presents original environmental project

Aura is running a new two-year programme involving students planting trees within the community.

A new initiative between Aura developer Stockland and Co-Exist Australia, a national organisation for young people, will be the first of its kind for the Sunshine Coast. Dubbed “The Schools Forest Project” the pilot programme is inviting two early learning centres and four schools based in Aura to participate in tree planting activities.

Community projects aimed at educators, and their students often look to brochure printing services to create detailed booklets explaining initiatives and agendas.

More than merely a plan to plant trees, the two-year endeavour will let teens and children have the opportunity to take the lead in re-envisioning and restoring the area where they live.

Josh Sondergeld, Director for Development at Stockland commented:

“As the Aura community continues to grow, we are encouraging students of all ages to be part of driving positive change and helping to create a more connected and sustainable future for Aura.”

Primary and Secondary students from the Nirimba and Baringa State Schools and Aura’s two Goodstart Early Learning centres are now confirmed to participate. The educational sessions were designed in collaboration with local teachers and include themes like nature play, science and sustainability and are cleverly crafted to generate meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

The first trees will now be planted this September.
