International Womens Day dinner to come to North Parramatta area

Women in North Parramatta are preparing for an International Women’s Day dinner to come to the area in March.

This annual event will be hosted by Senator Mehreen Faruqi, the Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens.

The dinner will feature honest discussion and a focus on First Nations women and women of colour.

The event will be held during the month of Ramadan and will be timed so that guests can share iftar during the vegetarian meal. This year’s guest speakers will be Winnie Dunn and Miss Kaninna.

Winnie Dunn is a Tongan-Australian woman, an award-winning novelist, the editor of acclaimed anthologies showcasing the work of authors of colour and the general manager of Sweatshop Literacy Movement.

Miss Kaninna is a Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Warrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali musician and activist, who was the first independent Indigenous woman to be nominated for a debut single at the ARIA Music Awards.

Event organisers can utilise graphic design to advertise upcoming dates like this one. Modern, eye-catching graphics help sell an event by captivating attention and prompting wider attendance.

The 2026 International Women’s Day Dinner will be held on Friday, 6 March at the Parramatta Town Hall, which can be found at 182 Church Street in Parramatta. Tickets are being sold online through the Humanitix website.
