Sutherland Shire Libraries is giving budding artists the chance to learn basic watercolour techniques and create their own landscape painting through a class to be held next month.
Anyone interested in learning the basics of watercolour painting can head to Caringbah library for a class held by Marion Chapman, a visual artist and graduate in Art and Design from UNSW. Her specialities are watercolour and Print-making.
Participants will learn about the different methods involved in watercolour painting and will make a sample sheet of techniques before creating their own landscape painting. Marion is an experienced art teacher and demonstrator and has won numerous prizes including the John Upton Watercolour Prize and Irodori Watercolour Prize. Her bubbly personality makes her classes enjoyable for students of all levels.
Sutherland Shire Libraries offers many different classes, courses and talks for community members wishing to learn new skills. It also assists more than 500 residents who make use of the Home Library Service. Libraries often use poster printing to let members of the community know what services are available or activities are coming up.
