Toyota site set to become new business park
The 12.4 hectare site of Toyota in Woolooware Bay, Caringbah is to be transformed into a recreational, educational, industrial and commercial business park.
The move comes six years after Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited announced the company would, in 2017, be ceasing Australian manufacturing of vehicles and began to wind down operations at the site.
The business park is planned by privately owned developer and property investor Aliro Group Industrial Value Fund (AGIVF), an arm of the funds management, investment and property development Aliro Group.
The Group plans to keep existing warehouses, offices and buildings within the business park, which is set to be called Endeavour Shores Estate.
The sale is expected to be finalised later in 2020, according to a recent statement from Toyota, and is to include the company's former marketing and national sales headquarters plus a huge warehouse and a number of other structures.
While Toyota's familiar logo design may be disappearing from the site, CEO and President of Toyota Australia Matthew Callachor said Aliro's proposal featured many benefits for the local community, including the aspect of job creation and they were key considerations during the sales process. He added:
The site is located on a prime commercial and industrial waterfront precinct, only 25 minutes from Port Botany.
