Pet owners are being encouraged to head to the Sutherland Shire Animal Shelter later this month to get the up-to-date information on caring for their animals.
The facility holds an open day each November to raise awareness about its work and to offer advice to pet owners.
Staff at the shelter will be on hand to answer common pet-related questions, and animal-related businesses from across the Shire will also be attending to promote their services, such as pet pampering.
Discounts will be offered on the day for people wanting to get their pets microchipped for safety, and there will also be a range of entertainment including a raffle, face painting stalls and a sausage sizzle.
Members of the Sutherland Shire Dog Training Club will be at the event showing off the skills of their dogs and to give owners advice on teaching their own pooches a trick or two.
Animal lovers from Caringbah who are thinking about getting a pet might like to make the short journey to the event to see some of the Shelter’s dogs and cats which are available for adoption.
Flyer printing could be used to present information about each animal for potential owners to take home to help them decide which one would be best suited to join their family.
The Open Day takes place at the Animal Shelter in Production Road, Taren Point on Saturday November 30. The shelter will be open from 9:00am to 2:00pm and entry is free.
