Open for applications from Local Aboriginal Land Councils – organisations that are not-for-profit and local councils – the funding is being provided for projects involving minor capital works and master planning, as well as equipment such as digitisation, broadcast systems and recording systems.
Arts Minister Ben Franklin said the funding round was being provided in conjunction with a $72 million programme within the State Government's Creative Capital allocations and reinforces its position and commitment to presenting and creating cultural and arts experiences across New South Wales. He added:
“NSW is known for producing world-class arts and cultural experiences. It’s critical the cultural infrastructure in our state matches our artistic aspirations, and we have gold-standard facilities to showcase this extraordinary creative talent.”
Franklin said the funding will aid upgraded and new facilities while also enabling successful applicants to purchase the required equipment to ensure artists are able to present and create innovative and vibrant work.
Flyer printing campaigns have often helped to give creative projects within the community the necessary exposure to attract good attendances to public events.
Applications for Round Two of the Minor Works and Equipment grants close on 8 August, 2022 at 12 noon and will provide from $5,000 to $250,000 to successful applicants. Further information is available on the website of Create NSW.
