Kamay National Park to host triathlon

The second race of the 2019 Triathlon NSW Sprint Series – Kurnell, will be held in January on the southern edge of Botany Bay near Caringbah.

The event will begin with a beach start and entrants will swim in Botany Bay, then cycle through the beautiful bushland of Kamay National Park, and finish with a run on a circuit of sealed paths and grass, also in the National Park.

There will be two alternative events. The Sprint event has a 750m swim, a 20km ride and a 5km run, and many well-known and experienced Australian triathletes are regular contestants. The Super Sprint has a 300m swim, a 10km ride and 2km run.

The Super Sprint distance encourages participants to enjoy being part of a triathlon, and challenges them to reach a personal goal. Entrants in the Super Sprint may wear flippers if they choose but will not receive a medal if they do.

There are different categories for competitors who range from 12 to over 80 years old and with further subcategories for male, female and mixed teams. Presentations will be held at the completion of the event for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category. Sporting events such as this often use banner printing to highlight the start and finish areas as well as to display corporate sponsors.

The event will be held on Saturday, 12th January and registrations close on Wednesday, 9th January.
