Those in Caringbah with a love of comedy and music won’t want to miss a show arriving at the Sydney Opera House in summer and running into autumn. The venue’s Joan Sutherland Theatre has stated it’s presenting the critically acclaimed satire “Candide” in February.
The musical extravaganza features a first-class score from Leonard Bernstein, the iconic composer of West Side Story which includes a powerhouse overture, a soprano solo and emotional final number “Make Our Garden Grow”. Premier theatre venues often enlist the assistance of expert printers to create programmes for shows made with high-quality paper and bearing an embossed Logo Design.
A smash-hit show, Candide features an updated staging by Dean Bryant the award-winning director. When it premiered in Melbourne in 2024 it received considerable applause from the press with the Australian Book Review hailing it as:
“The best of all possible productions.”
Brett Weymark will be conducting, and Lyndon Watts of Hamilton fame and Eddie Perfect are back by popular demand for the 2025 run at the opera house, reprising their roles in the well-received production.
Candide will now be performed live at the Joan Sutherland Theatre from Thursday, February 20 to Friday, March 14. The theatre is situated inside the Sydney Opera House which can be found on Macquarie Street in Sydney.
