Business park vision seeks to transform former Toyota site

A new business park proposed for Caringbah's former Toyota site is set to include a boutique hotel, tavern and food shops.

The site was purchased by the Aliro Group earlier this year, and it is now the subject of a planning proposal before Sutherland Shire Council that seeks to amend the 2015 Local Environmental Plan to permit additional uses that incorporate shops, a function centre, pub and visitor and tourist accommodation.

The proposal also seeks to boost the current five-storey building heights limit to 15 storeys. Once completed, the submission estimates on-site employment levels could reach near 5460.

According to the proposal, the vision of the Aliro Group is to open the door for the establishment of a business park that is world-class and features a wide array of buildings that lend themselves to a host of employment types, such as creative, scientific, filming, high-tech, office, manufacturing and industrial industries. The proposal also stated:

"Critical to the success of a new employment precinct is the creation of a high-amenity and vibrant place that attracts tenants and employers to the area."

Developments such as this have often also helped to boost demand for other established local services, such as the printing of Business Cards.

A new boutique hotel featuring a retail area on the ground floor has been flagged as becoming the proposed business park's gateway, through which all other industrial, business and office premises and beverage and food outlets can be accessed.
