3D design and printing workshop to take place in Carigbah

Code it Yourself is holding a six-hour camp for young people to learn basic skills in 3D design and printing.

As technology becomes more central to daily life, the ability to work with technology and to use it creatively will become increasingly important. Future employers will be looking for tech-savvy employees across a very diverse range of roles, from Logo Design, to manufacturing, engineering and even health care.

Code it Yourself clubs help children to learn the fundamentals of how digital technology works so rather than just being consumers of technology, they can become creators. Learning is self-paced and young coders gain skills by working on challenges, either on their own, or with others.

Professional coaches are on hand to guide and support club members in their learning. Through Code it Yourself, children can learn to create apps, websites and even robotics. Like learning a sport or a musical instrument, each child will develop their coding skills in the areas that interest them the most and will progress as far as their own passion takes them.

The course will be held on Tuesday, July 16th from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Caringbah High School, 85 Willarong Road, Caringbah. It is targeted at children aged between seven and 17 and the cost is $99. Bookings can be made online.
