Prosper golfers prepare for charity competition

Golfers from throughout Prosper have already begun shining their clubs in anticipation of a friendly competition scheduled to take place in August. This event is associated with a charitable cause, so a large number of guests is expected to attend.

Fairway for Families 2026 has been created to highlight the plight of some children who are living in foster care. Golfers will be taking part in an 18-hole "scramble" tournament that is essentially a lighthearted race to the finish, as opposed to a professional competition. Other highlights include prizes for the longest drive, and the shot that happens to land closest to the pin. All awards will be announced at the end of the day.

Proceeds from this event will be directed to Embrace Waiting Children. This organization is associated with the welfare of children. It has been created to ensure that every child is provided with a stable, loving home.

Charitable competitions will often seek to use cost-effective advertising techniques capable of offering an appreciable return on investment. These may include banner printing, paying for airtime on community-oriented radio stations, and creating standalone web pages that provide additional contact information.

Fairway for Families 2026 is taking place on Monday, August 17 from 8 AM to 2 PM. The competition is being hosted by the Gentle Creek Country Club located at 3131 Prosper Trail. Tickets cost $175 per golfer, although additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
