The Warwick Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) will once again be offering students who live in the local area, and who are planning on pursuing higher education, a chance to apply for scholarships to help offset the cost of doing so.
Grants made through the scholarship fund are given to students who will be graduating from high school. In order to qualify for this assistance, they must reside in the City of Warwick, be currently attending school, and have already been accepted into an accredited university or college for the upcoming academic year starting in 2016.
Those who have received this scholarship in the past will not be eligible to apply for this year. The winning recipients will be chosen through a lottery procedure, and each will receive the same amount by August 15, 2016.
Applications will be accepted by the FOP’s Board of Directors starting on May 1, with the closing date being June 15. Any that are received either before or after these dates will not be considered. Brochures that contain information about the scholarship can be prepared and given to schools in the area where they can be made available to students.
Once the application form is completed, it should be mailed to the Warwick FOP Board of Directors. The form, as well as the Mailing address for the Board Secretary, is available on the Warwick Fraternal Order of Police website.
