Warwick conference to showcase latest in assistive technology

Warwick has been selected to host a conference that will give vendors and users of assistive technology a chance to connect, and registration for the function is now open.

The Assistive Technology Conference of New England was first held back in 1988, and it has been on the grow ever since. It will include workshops, information sessions, mixers, vendor displays and many other activities, and experts will be coming in from around the world to address the group and share their expertise.

While the conference itself will only run for one day, it will be predicated by a pre-conference day of workshops, break out discussions, and other sessions. The symposium itself will be filled with an address from a keynote speaker, more workshops, mixers and a raffle draw.

Whether it’s a wheelchair, a tool to help a student with note taking in their university class or an app, assistive technology is making a difference in the lives of many. Part of the event’s mandate is to give users of adaptive technology a chance to discover some of the latest products on the market. A vendor alley will be set up, and companies and not-for-profit groups are welcome to book their space now. They can also visit their local printing services company to have some corporate gifts made that include their logo design or other graphics, and these will be included in the swag bags distributed to the attendees.

This year’s Assistive Technology Conference of New England has been scheduled for November 14. The organizer’s website is the place to go for further details.
