The Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity All-Star Softball Classic is taking place this August. Proceeds will go to the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the Pawtucket Red Sox Charitable Trust.
The game will see the Magic Johnson/Jeffrey Osborne All-Stars take on the New England Patriots Alumni Celebrity All Stars. In addition to Johnson, the event is set to feature sports greats Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Bryon Scott, and Dave Steward. Other celebrity participants will include Claudia Jordan and Smokey Robinson.
A small number of guests will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-game barbecue. The cost is $50, which includes a game ticket.
The Jeffrey Osborne Foundation raises money to help organizations that provide music and arts education for children. In the past, funds have gone to the Boys and Girls Club of Providence, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School and the MET Center.
This event is being widely advertised throughout Rhode Island, and will likely attract people from all over, including nearby Warwick. Local Stationery printers are often asked to provide products such as Flyers to help with the advertising.
