Residents of Warwick who have always wanted to start running as a hobby but weren't sure how to get started may want to be part of a local event organized with them in mind.
Rhode Runner, Inc. is offering a 14-week plan that will help people to train and prepare to run their first 5K race. The participants will prepare for the Gaspee Day 5K, which will be held in June, and the program is being put together by Ray Sikorowicz and USATF certified coach Eric Lonergan.
The plan is for the group to meet first at the end of February, and then after this, it will meet once a week. The participants will be given tips and other advice, and it was explained that one of the biggest goals of the initiative is that everyone who takes part has fun doing so.
A program like this, which encourages people to push their limits while still enjoying themselves, can be made even more effective by offering items like running Journals, distance log sheets and race bibs. A printing services provider can supply all of these.
Rhode Runner, which can be found in Providence at 657 N. Main Street, will host the introductory session of its Beginning Running group on Thursday, February 28th. It will start at 6:00 pm sharp.
