Flea market fundraiser to help fund scholarship program

Scholarships help learners achieve their post-secondary educational goals, and an upcoming event will aid in funding one of these programs for Warwick area students.

The Alumni Association at Coventry High School (CHS) has organized a fundraiser for its scholarship program, and the monies will also be used for other CHS projects. This yard sale style activity is being co-hosted by the Pawtuxet Valley Rotary Club, and spaces are available to the general public.

Table spaces at the fundraiser can be reserved for $25.00 each, and the participants have been asked to consider making a voluntary donation of 10 percent of their profits from the day. Anyone who would like to help out but not rent a table will be able to donate gently used items on various dates in August, and these may be dropped off at Confreda’s Gardens, which can be found on Nooseneck Road. The organizer explained that they are not able to accept large appliances or furniture.

Making sure the public knows when and where a fundraiser like this will be on offer to them is often key to its success. A poster printing company will be able to help, and many of its products and services may be quite budget friendly.

This yard sale fundraiser has been planned for September 11th at Coventry High School. Items may be dropped off at the collection point on August 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.
