Newtown Rotary Club to visit Barnes museum

The Rotary Club of Newtown is hosting a group visit to the Barnes Foundation museum this winter.

Adventures in Art: Camaraderie and Culture is intended to provide opportunities for attendees to connect with each other and explore the museum. The group will take a one-hour tour of the collection led by a museum docent. They will be split into groups of no more than 10 people. Participants will also have time in the museum on their own after the tour.

The Barnes has one of the largest collection of French impressionist artwork in the world, including 181 Renoir and 69 Cézanne pieces. The collection is organized in a unique format that is intended to give visitors a new perspective on the art.

Registration is open online now for both Rotary Club members and guests. Members should sign in to their accounts through ClubRunner. The tour and museum admission cost $40 per person. Attendees can also choose to take a bus from Newtown to the museum and back for an addition $50 per person. The bus will leave from the Newtown American Legion parking lot at 1 pm. Participants can also meet at the Barnes. Organizations often use flyer printing services to promote their public events.

The Adventures in Art tour will take place on Saturday, February 8 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
