A popular market is getting ready to open, and is also offering a unique solution to help those needing assistance.
Westside Flea will be open at the North Olmsted Community Park on certain Saturdays during the 2020 season, enabling visitors to shop local and support companies and artisans in the community. Westside Flea has a wide array of products and services, goods and performers. Shoppers will be able to find art, locally grown produce, desserts made by hand, handcrafted soap, décor for the home, unique items found at estate sales, and handmade jewelry. While they shop, they can enjoy live music, and when they get hungry, food trucks are available.
In order to help people who may be struggling through a difficult time, the market has taken an extra step, and turned its small lending library into a food pantry. The pantry works the same as the library, where people are invited to pick up a new book and donate a used one. Instead of books, however, Westside Flea has stocked the pantry with non-perishables and canned goods, and welcomes anyone who needs something to come and select it.
At the present time, the Westside Flea plans to be open from 9.00 am until 3.00 pm on June 13, July 11, August 8, and September 19. People considering shopping there should check with the market in case of any changes in the schedule. Flyer printing can create handouts listing vendors at events like this.
