One of the signature events of the summer is on the way to the Fairview Park region.
The Taste of Lakewood, an annual food festival, has now been scheduled. The event is pay-as-you-go, and features live music, specialties provided by local restaurants, and a market where shoppers can find unique items from local crafters and retailers.
The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event, and a portion of the proceeds is earmarked for the Chamber's scholarship efforts. The program helps high school seniors from Lakewood and St. Edward high schools.
Robin Suttell of Lakewood plans to blog about this year's event. In preparation for the festival, she will visit participating restaurants and write about their offerings beforehand. Information will be found on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook; visitors to the sites should use the hashtag #tasteoflakewood.
VIP tickets are already on sale at $50 each. This category of ticket includes a choice of meal seating, VIP parking, a VIP dessert, and a free raffle ticket.
The Taste of Lakewood is slated for June 5, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Lakewood's Madison Park, about five miles from Fairview Park.
Event organizers might like to add to the fun by working with a banner printing company to create colorful Banners to hang throughout the park, where they will move in the wind.
