The Northern Ohio Garden Railway Society will be constructing a display at Great Northern Mall in North Olmsted.
The Great Northern Mall Christmas Build is an event where members of the Northern Ohio Garden Railway Society can work together on a public display. The project’s theme is A Trip to Santa’s North Pole. The build is located by Dillard’s Department Store and will be a 12’ x 16’ display. Those interested in helping the organization with the themed display can become a member of the society by applying online. New membership dues will cost $35.
The Northern Ohio Garden Railway Society was established in 1993 by a group of railway enthusiasts to make a community where people can share resources and interact with fellow hobbyists. Members of the organization help create displays for places like retirement homes, retail venues, and non-profit groups. The society has a blog that contains content such as train show reviews and project suggestions. The group also attends events like the Medina Model Train and Toy Show.
The Christmas Build will take place on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The grand opening of the railway society’s display will be held on November 18.
