North Olmsted race to assist local organizations

A fundraiser and race will be held in April at the Springvale Golf Course in North Olmsted to benefit several local charities.

The April Fools' Run is an event where people and their dogs can race and compete for prizes. The money earned from the race will benefit the North Olmsted Community Council and the Berea Animal Rescue Friends (ARF). The t-shirt sponsor contributions for the fundraiser will go to the North Olmsted Kiwanis Scholarships Fund. Those who want to help support the April Fools' Run can become a volunteer for the race.

Those who participate in the activity will receive a brat and a beverage. Adults can have a beer, and minors will only get a soft drink. All participants who pre-register for the race by April 3rd will get an April Fool's T-shirt. Several awards can be won at the event, like Best Human/Dog Team, Best April Fool's Costume, and First Female Overall Runner. Competitors who win an award will get a $50 gift card from Second Soleto.

The fundraiser race will begin on Sunday, April 7th at 9:00am. Registration and packet pickup for the running event will open at 8:00am. The cost to enter the race is $30, though the price will go up after April 6th. Those who organize similar outdoor fundraisers may use banner printing services to promote the nonprofit groups that will benefit from the events.
