Mobile pantry coming to North Olmsted

North Olmsted residents will be able to pick up free produce soon.

The Oxcart Pantry, working with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, is the host of an upcoming Mobile Produce Pantry. People will be able to drive to the location and obtain produce at no cost. In order to take part in this event, participants will need to pre-register online.

A few rules will make things quick and easy for everyone. First, the pantry is operating the service as a drive-through only, and people will not be allowed to leave their vehicles. People who walk up will not receive service.

Second, in order to safeguard the health of all involved, it is required that people who want to receive food empty their trunks completely before coming to the mobile pantry. Workers will place food in the truck bed or the trunk of the vehicle only.

In order to get to the distribution point, drivers should enter the church property at the light at Great Northern Boulevard and Lorain Road, and follow the Signs. People are requested not to arrive before 1:50 pm, and not to block Lorain Road. As people register, they will be given a number which they must have when they check in.

The Mobile Produce Pantry is scheduled for July 13 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, at the John Knox Presbyterian Church on Lorain Road. Banner printing can used to provide necessary Signs for events like this.
