Literary agent to virtually visit North Olmsted library

The Cuyahoga County Public Library in North Olmsted will be inviting a literary agent to answer questions in January.

Those interested in learning about the publishing process from a professional literary agent can attend a Zoom meeting hosted by the Cuyahoga County Public Library. The visiting agent is Erin Hosier, who has 20 years of publishing experience and currently works for the Dunow, Carlson & Lerner Literary Agency. She will be discussing topics such as what publishers look for in books and what she does as an agent. Hosier will also give tips on pitching to agencies.

The Dunow, Carlson & Lerner Literary Agency was established in 2005 by Henry Dunow, Jennifer Carlson, and Betsy Lerner. The organization represents several talented authors, including Joshua Wolf Shenk, Aimee Bender, and Nathaniel Adams. Those interested in submitting their works to the agency can email their query letters to mail@dclagency.com. Agents who work for businesses like this may create Business Cards to share with their clientele.

The Ask a Literary Agent will be held on Tuesday, January 18 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. There is no cost to attend Hosier's meeting, though guests must register to be given a link to the Zoom call from the library. Registration for the activity opened to patrons on Saturday, December 18. No pitches will be accepted during the information session.
