Marissa, from Art with Marissa, will be holding an art camp in June at the Rocky River Reservation in North Olmsted.
The Nature Art Camp is an activity for children interested in the wilderness and working with art. Kids can work on projects inspired by Andy Goldsworthy during the program, like nature weavings, leaf crowns, and sculptures based on natural elements. Campers will also get to play in the woods and swim in a nearby stream. Part of the program takes place in the organizer’s backyard in Lakewood. Those who offer activities for kids may use poster printing to make ads to place in schools and libraries.
Art with Marissa offers numerous artistic programs for children throughout the year. Past events from the organizer include the Drawing and Painting Art Camp, Sculpt and Build Art Camp, and the Disco Ball Painting course. Marissa can also teach students how to create pieces from multiple types of art, such as clay, mixed media, and charcoal drawings. The organizer mainly teaches small groups of children from her home studio.
The art camp will be held from Monday, June 13 to Thursday, June 16. Each session of Marissa’s program will last from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Campers must pay $190 to join the activity. All participants should bring a nut-free lunch to eat while at the camp.
