Theaters near Colerain mount simultaneous productions
Theater-goers in the area around Colerain have more than one option if they want to see a performance this holiday season.
Usually, they can either see a live play at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater or at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. For the first time though, Cincinnati Landmark Productions, which manages both venues, will have a production playing in each theater at the same time this month.
According to Rodger Pille, Cincinnati Landmark Productions' Communications and Development Director, the company chose the plays for each theater with the goal of offering "something for everyone on West Side". The production company can use poster printing to spread the word to residents in the area.
The Covedale Center is producing ‘Mary Poppins’, while ‘Rent’ will be on the stage at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater. Mary Poppins is intended to attract a family crowd while the production company expects that Rent will appeal to young professionals and adults who might be returning to the area to visit family over the holidays.
Many families in the area have made it a holiday tradition to see a show at the Covedale Center, according to the artistic director for Cincinnati Landmark, Tim Perrino. Since the Federal Incline theater only opened in June, he is hoping that a different demographic will decide to make a seeing a show there a new holiday tradition.
Mary Poppins runs until December 27 and Rent runs until December 20. Tickets for either show are $26 or $23 for seniors and students.
